How to Delete Twitter Cache on iPhone, iPad, and Android
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

You may not be aware that the Twitter mobile software keeps temporary files on your tablet and phone. Deleting unnecessary images, GIFs, and online data from your Twitter site and media cache is a fast and simple method to recover those valuable megabytes if you’re running low on space. It’s a win-win situation because clearing your Twitter data cache can also improve the functionality of the Twitter app. You may learn how to remove the Twitter app’s cache on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device by reading this wikiHow article.

Things You Should Know

  • Twitter stores a small cache of images, GIFs, cookies, and other web data on your phone or tablet automatically.
  • On an iPhone or iPad, you’ll clear your Twitter cache from the Twitter app itself.
  • On an Android, you can clear Twitter’s cache from your Android’s settings, not within the Twitter app.

1. Open the Twitter app on your iPhone or iPad.

The icon of the blue and white bird can be found in your app list or on your home screen.

2.Tap your profile photo.
It is located in the upper-left corner of the screen. This brings up the numerous options in the left sidebar.
3. Tap Settings and privacy.
This is at the bottom of the left sidebar, but you might have to scroll down a little to see it.
4. Tap Accessibility, display, and languages.
5. Tap Data usage.
It’ll be at the bottom of the list.
6. Tap Media storage.
At the bottom of the screen, there are two distinct storage options. This is the first one. Cache versions of the media files, including animated GIFs and pictures, that you scroll through are stored in media storage.
7. Tap Clear media storage and then confirm.
You’ll see a confirmation menu when you tap this choice. To be sure, tap Clear media storage a second time.
You’ll return to the “Data usage” screen on the Twitter app after you’ve emptied your media storage.
8. Tap Web storage.
This choice is located underneath your now-empty media storage at the bottom. Web storage is a collection of webpages, cookies, password saves, and other web-based information that is cached on your device and saved while using the Twitter app.
9. Choose which web data to delete.
While neither of these solutions will clear your browser cache or log you out of Twitter, they do serve different purposes:
Cookies and remembered logins remain on your phone or tablet when you use Clear Web Page Storage, which just removes cached websites from the Twitter app.
Your whole web cache, including cookies and website passwords stored in Twitter’s built-in browser, is erased when you select “Clear all web storage.” The next time you visit a website using the Twitter app, you will need to log in if you have previously visited it and saved your login credentials.
10. Tap Clear web page storage or Clear all web storage again to confirm.
This rapidly frees up space on your iPhone or iPad and clears the selected site cache.
